An Insight into travelling of tourist places and a plan for a virtual vacation

Are you interested  to plan for vacations?

Friends, I know what the immediate thought reflected in your minds  ,” Lock Down  and  the minuscule virus (Covid-19) a pandemic, which  set the world in  to  wait &heal situation. A new variants  are still in air which cause threat to us inspite of  various precautions  and being vaccinated on time . The children and teens of age 15 years and above   are also introduced  to vaccination. The pandemic situation made us distant from the nature and rejuvenation of body. Socializing, working and enjoying are the factors which optimise our lives .  Most of us get re-energized, by visiting various places like Islands, climbing rock challenges, paragliding in adventurous spots and visiting  international well- known tourist places etc. Let me remember you that India ranked 34th on world travel and tourism competitiveness index. The situation after this pandemic does not promise us that we can plan and enjoy to the fullest.

I visited several places mostly  hill stations like Kulu Manali in Himachal Pradesh , Kodaikanal & Kanya-kumari in Tamil Nadu , Kerala back waters and Pondicherry.I personally visited   Kanniya kumari   along with my family members . It is a town in Kanya-kumari district situated in Tamil Nadu state at Indira point on Great Nicobar Island .It is interesting to know that Vivekananda rock memorial is located at where three oceans meet, Tiruvelluvar waterfalls are also located. We can reach Vivekananda rock memorial place via Ferry journey only.

I visited this place in the year 2016 in the month of March . After reaching  we got to go for Sechindram temple where Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara  were worshiped . We visited wax wonders mayapuri locally, over there and clicked pics.

Next day in early hours we have been to watch the elegant scene of Sun rise , you will find people capturing Sun rise image with cam recorders and standing on the  unlevelled rocks in middle and surrounding with Arabian ocean and Bay of Bengal  ocean on either sides. We head on to visit Mukkudal , a place in which three Seas meet.  That place is named as Tri-veni Sangamam where Arabian Sea, Indian ocean and Bay of Bengal  meet .We can observe water in red, green semi white colours.  Locally we have done shopping there ,crossed Nataraj bridge and then in return again after reaching our accommodation we were left to watch Sun set in Kanniya Kumari . The following day was scheduled to go to Madurai. We got in to train to reach Madurai .This place is well known for Meenakshi Amman Koil . As it was long ago I couldn’t mention  exactly ,few kilometres from the place one can go to Tirumalai Nair  palace. and Museum . Finally , we were on the way back to return train to Chennai.

Kerala is also one such place to visit where one can enjoy back water boat rides and boat house hospitality. The house boat is a special experience  there were even double ducker house boats.A  fantastic  experience  to dine on house boat while traveling  continuosly and finding tall trees, cool breeze , village houses , withering  winds and small talks with friends etc.we can find  various medicinal herbs and plants garden there.ie botanical gardens. The very different style of cooking and ingredients they use to prepare dishes mesmerizes us. The visit to  tea manufacturing process  equipment  exhibition is also visit worthy over there. Several tea powders are made available .

In order to travel one must take care to be physically fit , financially sound for few places which demand for their worthiness, choosing  people to hangout  as per interest & need also matters a lot. I have realized that people  visit places with other persons who are just introduced via social media web pages ,it is like travelling with strangers but the one whom we believe to share our joy may also support at times. It definitely depends on ones own interests.

During the days in 2019  it was the time for virtual vacation,  the luxuries-themed videos ie 3D tours can help us to get the feel and know about those places just by clicking on the video from home.  All we need is a virtual head set to wear and play the videos in VR mode .

The Illusion called Distance

As it is the onset of winter, we at Pune experience birds of different species migrating here as the climate is very pleasant. A few days back, I heard the sweet melodious voice of Koyal which was very hard to ignore. I heard Koyal after many years! After listening to her voice I even tried spotting her from the kitchen window as I rolled chapatis early morning. I could not stop my work as tiffins had to be made on time! Also, it would delay everything if I paused for a while as it was a treasure hunt that I would have to do to spot it! It was probably not in my vicinity! This happened at around 7-7.15 am.

At noon, when I was deeply engrossed in articulating a piece that is very dear to me, I could again hear a similar voice, this time with a sprinkle of pain. This time, I was determined to catch sight of the bird along with her voice. I stopped writing, ran to the balcony, and couldn't spot it from there. I had time now, so I rushed to the terrace. After estimating the direction and loudness of the voice I kept checking for directions. I could not spot it. What I rather spotted was a crow stuck in cables, trying hard to rescue himself for life. I tried to help it, took a ladder that I found on the terrace, reached the cable, untangled it, and helped the crow free himself. He flew away. I still stood there in a quest to seek the sight of Koyal. But, you know what? I could not hear the painful squeaks after the crow was free. So that probably would be the crow and not the Koyal!

Distance is such a crucial aspect of everything we do! When I was inside the house, it felt like Koyal, when I crossed the distance and came closer, it was a crow. And this applies so aptly to our lives as well. There as so many people, we meet in one lifetime, and our distance from them decides our feelings for them. Some of them are with us for a very short duration, but the bond which is developed stays for a lifetime. Some are around us and meet/see us daily, but still, we fail to develop that bond with them. After all, everything has to be two-way and mutual!

Also, we know many people from a distance and are quick enough to judge them, however, we should instead try to step closer to see if they are struggling like the crow that was tangled in cables. The idea of assuming and making scenarios/circumstances in our head may be an illusionary instant relief, not the ultimate truth!
